Well, its another day, another snickerdoodle cookie! At the beginning of the year, yep that wonderful New Years resolution was made, to eat better, be fit, exercise, etc etc etc.....well, I can honestly say that I was doing fairly well, UNTIL...Valentines day hit. My son brought home a snickerdoodle cookie mix that he had made at his Valentine Party (I will "thank" that mother soon for this amazing gift). He was soo excited, so we made the cookies, and I truly have not been a fan of snickerdoodle cookies. Maybe it was the sugar, the cinnamon, the snow on the ground, the moon in the sky....whatever the reason, the snickerdoodle invasion had begun!
It began as a simply warm cookie trial, then continued into an all out invasion, me stopping those cookies by gobbling them up, yes I was protecting my family from those bad bad cookies....
As Bill Cosby pointed out in his stand-up, our baked goods do have the Eggs and Milk, so technically having cookies or cake for breakfast, lunch, and even dinner truly should be considered a a healthy meal???? Unfortunately for me, its more of the just add it onto my thighs, hips and butt type food!
As we got down to the last 2 cookies yesterday evening, I began thinking of reasons my children could not have a cookie. It was close to dinner, they had had enough sugar, wouldn't an orange be better for them....Yes, the last cookies would be MINE!
That dream was shattered as I folded laundry and my son grabbed the last two cookies, and ate them both! It was a sad moment, I heard the trumpets playing taps in my head. But then I realized this was a good thing, this was actually helpful, I would NOT get another cookie, empty calories, sweet sugar and cinnamon.....I settled for an orange instead.
The Snickerdoodles were stopped in their tracks, but now the Cake Mix is calling....
As usual...we seem to be thinking alike again. I LOVE snickerdoodles! (*_*) Love the baby bunting.
